Welcome to join lecture about Distance Education!

The period of distance education had to be implemented very rapidly in spring 2020 in Finland. The experience was instructive for all of us. Since the beginning of current school year teachers and pupils have improved their preparedness in many ways so they are more capable of shifting into distance learning if the need arises in the future.

Finnish Active Learning´s presentation concentrates on distance education (K-2) and shares some ideas on how to guide and support parents during it. The expertise as experienced teachers and to use active learning was valuable during distance education and it displays also in this presentation.

Distance education is challenging for pupils and their families. Teachers should pay attention to the balance of information taught and motivating active learning. It´s important to try to maintain the joy of learning. The presentation contains tips for instructing parents and giving children versatile exercises which consider home´s materials, equipment and learning environments. There are also suggestions of utilizing neighborhood of home as inspiring learning environment.
