Welcome to English Schoolbag course 2!

Contents of the English Schoolbag course 2 include greetings, polite expressions, animals, and different nature’s environments. Contents of the course

In the beginning of this course we will introduce the contents and the world of Finnish Active Learning. The themes of the second course are greetings, polite expressions, animals, and different nature’s environments. First, you get to introduce yourself to the structure and principles of this course. We will give you tips for different learning environments, which will help you in building a successful active learning environment. We have gathered this course’s printable games, cards, and other material to material pocket. The cards also include adjective cards and verb cards that are suitable for activities and individualization. Pupils can use the cards to study English phrases. Printable cards are usable in many activities of the course and they can also be utilized in other activities of the English Schoolbag. When you laminate the cards, you ensure that they are durable in indoor and outdoor activities. You can also use play animals in the activities. Section “Forming groups and pairs” provides tips for arranging of groups. We utilize other material from this course as well. This course’s ideas can also be applied to other school subjects and especially to language classes.

Designers of the courses of Finnish Active Learning

We are classroom teachers Teija Kauppi MAT (The Master of Arts in teaching) and Eija Leskinen MAT, a theatre pedagogue and nonfiction author. We have trained teachers, day school teachers and activity directors. Active learning has been a part of our teaching for our whole teaching careers. We have noticed that it motivates and inspires pupils to learn. Learning a new skill becomes easier when it is done by playing and moving. We hope that our course would inspire and encourage more teachers to try active teaching methods. For those, who already use active teaching as one of their techniques, we would like to share new ideas that make each school day even more enjoyable. The name of our company is Ideareppu / Finnish Active Learning.
